Megan's Resolution

I’ve never been one to make the typical New Year’s resolutions, like lose weight, exercise more, spend less, save more. For me, it’s always more of a big picture resolution taking a look at my goals for the whole year – not just something that needs a quick fix or can be done in a few months. It’s about how can I enhance my life, improve things overall, make subtle changes. I’m such a typical Virgo, Type A in many ways, that I would personally hate to set goals I can’t keep and then feel like a failure. So it’s all about manifesting my long term goals and actually following through and making them happen.

This year, my main focuses are:

1) Find a better work/life balance for myself and with my husband. We already started that by moving back to LA last summer, and now we have more space with a house, a backyard, and nature around us. It’s easier to take a moment to breathe everyday. We also just adopted a rescue puppy. We had been wanting one for 5 years, and we finally made that dream come true. Now we are in heaven with Hawk.

2) Maintain my health. As some of you know, I was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago almost to the day. I have not taken any of the Interferon drugs EVER and have been using alternative medicine to lead me to a healthier life. Just last month, my actual MD gave me the all clear that I no longer can say I have MS. I had known that in my heart for some time but to hear the words come out of my MD’s mouth was music to my ears and even more reason to celebrate my 10 year anniversary in a few weeks. FMS as Craig and I say.

3) Continue building my business by taking on bigger client projects and helping more people. I would love to collaborate with other brands like Refinery 29, Net a Porter, J.Crew, Gap, Anthropologie and Vince as well as some of the more high end brands that I work with frequently for my clients such as, Reed Krakoff, Bottega Veneta and Derek Lam.

4) Lastly, I want to personally build my own wardrobe to include more timeless high-end investment pieces. It's important to me that I practice what I preach and dress well for myself, my business, and my reputation - that I have sophisticated forever pieces mixed in with my trendy ones.  I just recently purchased two amazing pairs of pants, one Celine and one Lanvin that I got at 80% off at a warehouse sale at one of my new favorite stores, Savannah, in Santa Monica, so I am beginning to do that slowly.
