Well, fall is finally here and with it always comes new trends, especially one I'm loving right now: Brocade.
So when Real Simple Magazine asked me to contribute to their article this month on brocade and how different body types can best wear it, I was over the moon. Real Simple's philosophy encompasses everything that I believe in, and the article is a perfect example of how I work with clients helping them to figure out what best suits their silhouette.
On stands now in their October issue and see the full article here with a few additional tips from me below.
Here are a few more Brocade tips from me.
Full hips and thighs?
Do not wear bright color brocades on your bottom half or high contrasting brocades.
Avoid wearing a loose brocade frock with no shape. Do wear a piece with details to add volume.
Have a Tummy?
Do not wear a short and boxy brocade top or a dress with an empire waist. Both will emphasize your belly.
Wear a tone on tone subtle brocade low scoop or v-neck top with a wide cut trouser, which will give the illusion of a slimmer bust line and keep your look balanced.
Avoid small print brocades. Instead focus on pieces that will give you long vertical lines like a brocade duster over a flared pant.
Happy Brocade Shopping!!!!
